Join the Scottish Drama Training Network at Pass @ Edinburgh College as we share the learning from our pilot project The Network.
In January the Scottish Drama Training Network and Pleasance Theatre Trust partnered to create a new initiative to support Acting, Performance and Technical Theatre graduates from Scotland’s Colleges and Higher Education Institutions as they make the transition from training to industry.
Mark Thomson, the Lyceum Theatre Company’s former Artistic Director was the first to back the initiative. He worked with students from across Scotland in script development workshops which resulted in Snowflake new writing created specifically for The Network. Mark then auditioned and interviewed over 90 performance and technical students to select the ensemble.
The Network Ensemble and Snowflake had an incredibly successful full run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with four star reviews from The Scotsman and Edinburgh Festival Magazine as well as being shortlisted for the Mental Health Fringe Award.
Now SDTN would like to share the learning from the project with our Network of Institutions and show what this could mean for future generations of theatre graduates in Scotland.
