Work Placement with The Network 2018 – Communications Assistant

This is a part-time work placement opportunity for a student to volunteer within a small team producing SDTN’s The Network Ensemble, which will show at the Pleasance, during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018.

The placement can be delivered flexibly between June and August 2018. It is anticipated that the commitment would be 1 day per week based in Glasgow June and July and approximately 3 hours per day based in Edinburgh in August.

The placement would be supervised Laura Gregson, Network Development Officer, who has responsibility for Marketing and Communication.

Marketing and Communications tasks for the student volunteer may include:


Planning a Marketing Campaign that will be implemented to promote the show during the Fringe 2018.  SDTN will produce a Marketing Campaign – however we are very interested in hearing from students who would like to take on the social media marketing as a project, and work with SDTN to deliver the overall campaign.

Take part in an induction day for all Ensemble participants at Edinburgh College Tuesday 5 June.


Production of communications materials (eflyers / print / social media)

Assisting with events

Administrative tasks

Planning of Street team:  rotas / locations – in liaison with the Pleasance

Show Programme and Media Information:

Information gathering

Updating The Network webpage


Documenting the project: online (Blog posts / vlogs / photos)

Co-ordination of Street team: rotas / locations

Assisting with Events associated with the production
