Mentor Opportunity with Gemma Smith

Scottish Drama Training Network & Gemma Smith: Mentor opportunity

Scottish Drama Training Network (SDTN) is delighted to be able to deliver mentor support for two students/recent graduates* to spend focused time with recently trained mentor, Scottish industry professional stage manager Gemma Smith.

We are excited to be able to offer this fully funded opportunity to the SDTN network. Through this mentoring programme, we strongly believe in empowering you through discussion, reflection and action, giving you the confidence to achieve and excel in your chosen field. Mentoring sessions are a two-way partnership based on mutual respect and willingness to learn and grow. We are committed to offer between 3 – 8 one hour sessions over an 8 month period, dependent on the individual’s needs (for example, one session per month). We envisage that this opportunity is delivered online – however if the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting came in the future, this option would be explored.

Mentoring ethos:

  • SDTN and the mentor will empower you to excel in the industry
  • This is driven by you, with you setting the agenda from the first session
  • You are expected to action work between sessions
  • We work with you to create achievable goals

Deadline for application: 12noon on 22nd March 2021

Successful applicants notified: 1st April 2021 – then a schedule of sessions will be agreed
