Coronavirus: An Update for the SDTN Network

SDTN operates as a department within The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The Conservatoire’s Senior Management Team met over the weekend and our Principal, Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, has issued the following statement:

“The continued well-being of our student and staff community is our top priority. Given the continued spread of the Covid-19 outbreak and in line with our colleagues across the Scottish Higher Education Sector, the Senior Management Team has agreed that from Monday, March 16 here at RCS we will:

·         Suspend all face-to-face teaching and plan to move to distance learning until further notice

·         Suspend all performances, concerts and public events until further notice.

·         Discontinue all UK travel on behalf of RCS”

In line with the RCS we here at SDTN have taken the decision to suspend our current events programme.

If you were due to participate please contact a member of the team for further information if required on hello@sdtn.org.

It is an exceptionally difficult time for the Creative Industries and we will be advertising our future programme and re scheduled events as soon as possible. Updates will be posted across our social media and website so keep checking in.

In the meantime if you need more detailed information The Royal Conservatoire have published a web page of Frequently Asked Questions which outlines how the institution is dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak in a wider sense. This page will updated with new information as it becomes available.

Take care

SDTN Team
