Casting platform, Backstage and Casting Director, Hannah Marie Williams would like to invite your film and acting students to a practical and informative session about the world of casting. Hannah speaks at film and drama schools across the UK, giving film career starters workshops and advice about how to cast projects professionally, efficiently and with the right talent. She also workshops actors, giving industry insights to prepare performers for auditions, meeting with agents and making the most of their talent after training.
PLEASE NOTE: We have space for 50 acting students and 50 film students on each date. Places will be shared fairly between the institutions in each area.
Institutions have been allocated a date & venue based on the geography of their campus:
Glasgow Clyde, City of Glasgow, Kelvin, New College Lanarkshire, West College Scotland, Ayrshire College, University West of Scotland
Napier, Queen Margaret, Edinburgh College, Edinburgh College of Art and Forth Valley
Dundee & Angus, Fife, Perth, North East Scotland College
Moray College, Inverness UHI, North Highland UHI, Orkney and Shetland
Backstage is a casting platform and actor publication, started in NYC in 1960. Since then, Backstage has grown to an international hub for all things casting with 1000s of projects being cast from the talent database each month and the best actor targeted editorial, with advice and industry news.
Backstage are offering all students completely free use of their website to allow performers to find castings to apply to and film students to post their casting calls and find the right talent.
About Hannah Marie Williams
Hannah is a Casting Director with almost 10 years experience across all corners of the industry. She has worked on films including Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, War Machine, Pride and The Legend of Tarzan. Since starting her own casting company, Hannah’s films have been nominated and selected for prestigious film festivals including the BFI London Film Festival, Encounters, Aesthetica & Underwire. Her casting style works well with the talks she gives at organisations around the UK as she likes to cast from a pool of undiscovered and natural raw talent.
