“The SDTN production is a really exciting contribution to the Festival Fringe scene, as well as being of real importance and value for our sector as a whole. These emergent artists are our future, and as an organisation that works to inspire women & girls, we are intrigued to hear what their collaboration with the brilliant Caitlin Skinner, has to say about the world as it is now. We look forward to supporting the project as it develops in the coming months”  Jemima Levick

Letters to… a Woman Who Brings Me Hope in the Dark

We are thrilled to say that our creative partnership with Stellar Quines has inspired the first edition of a new quarterly writing competition. Stellar Quines Theatre Company put out a call asking people to write “Letters to…a Woman Who Brings Me Hope in the Dark”. The first edition of Letters to…  was inspired in part by Rebecca Solnit’s book Hope In the Dark and by the themes of Propeller. These works got us all thinking about the many women who have done inspirational work to resist oppression. For writers at any level; this was an opportunity to tell us about an activist who gives you the energy and determination to keep on going, whatever your struggle is and however they encourage you. The selected letter will be performed by a professional actor, directed by Stellar Quines’ Artistic Director Jemima Levick and filmed. The filmed reading will be shared online at the end of July 2018 to celebrate Propeller’s opening at the Pleasance Courtyard (Venue 33) at the Fringe.
