Space/Time retreat for practitioners-lecturers working in drama training – 25-28 October, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Skye.

 

We are delighted to bring you news of an exciting Professional Development opportunity exclusively for SDTN network lecturers in October 2018. SDTN are collaborating with Magnetic North to offer Network lecturers a unique version of Magnetic North’s highly regarded Space/Time retreats.

This reflective residential retreat is for people who combine a professional drama practice with lecturing. Based on Magnetic North’s renowned Space/Time residencies, this long-weekend retreat aims to refresh participants through facilitated dialogue – built around a series of self-generated questions – with time for individual reflection and work.  It will be led by Magnetic North’s Artistic Director Nicholas Bone and Red Bridge Arts’ Creative Director Alice McGrath.

Useful to know:
The residency is funded by SDTN and Magnetic North and participants will only need to cover travel costs to Skye, as food and accommodation is provided at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
This is retreat is offered to lecturers in the Network as a unique Professional Development opportunity and will be of most benefit to those who combine professional practice with lecturing.

For example this residency is aimed at you, if your teaching and professional practice includes: playwriting, directing, acting or design (set, lighting, sound, costume, video) AND you also lecture in one of SDTN’s network institutions, either full or part-time.

The retreat will offer participants the opportunity to not only reflect on their own practice but also to contribute to peer professional learning and creative exchange with colleagues.
The residency will take place at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Skye from Thursday 25th- Sunday 28th October 2018. 

There will be 8 funded places and interested participants will be asked to complete an application form with career history and a statement to explain why you would benefit from this development opportunity and how it would benefit your practice. .
If the residency is oversubscribed, the selection will be made by Nicholas Bone (Magnetic North) and Lucy Vaughan (SDTN).
