SDTN Special Event: Thu 3 Nov 2011

For teachers of Drama in Schools, Colleges and Higher Education Institutes, you are invited to attend a SDTN Special Event.

Thursday 3rd November 2011
18:00 – 20:30
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

100 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, G2 3DB

Introduction to SDTN by Professor Maggie Kinloch,
SDTN Chair and Vice-Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Discussion on training in Equality, Disability and Inclusivity with representation from Theatre Companies:-  Birds of Paradise, Solar Bear and Giant

We are organising this special event to welcome those who teach Drama in Schools and we are extending our invitation to College and Higher Education tutors.

Delegates at our Inaugural Conference in May made it clear that they wanted to improve communication opportunities with those who work in schools. This first event will provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about SDTN and also to participate in a special Panel discussion on Equality, Disability and Inclusivity. We will be joined by a number of expert industry practitioners from companies and organisations that deliver and train for Drama & Theatre that is structured to target specific and relevant work involving these areas. Companies represented will be Birds of Paradise, Solar Bear, and Giant.  It is sure to be a stimulating event and we will also offer an opportunity for Drama tutors and practitioners to meet and network at the end of the session with some refreshments.

Please RSVP by email to SDTN Director, Alison Forsyth on alison@sdtn.org

NB We understand that it may prove difficult for those who are working outwith the central belt to attend this early evening event and therefore we will hope to plan another in the future to accommodate those who work in other areas.
