Coatbridge College Student Secures Acting Role in Film
Patrick Wallace, HND Acting and Performance student at Coatbridge College is elated with his recent success as he lands his first big acting role.
Patrick, 18, began his studies at Coatbridge College last year on the two year HND Acting and Performance course with dreams of becoming a professional actor. Now in his second year, Patrick has already seen the benefits of his hard work, securing an acting role in a feature film.
As part of Patrick’s first year at the College he undertook Acting for Camera, which aims to prepare learners for acting in front of a camera and has been invaluable in Patrick’s success;
‘Without Acting for Camera I wouldn’t have understood what the director was telling me, what the camera crew were asking me to do, where to look or stand, and most importantly, how to do a good job on camera!’
Acting for Camera is among a number of industry relevant subjects covered by HND Acting and Performance at Coatbridge College and provides students with valuable knowledge for securing employment in the industry.
‘Being able to demonstrate my knowledge and experience from College was so important for my audition. It helped me get the part in the film because I had the skills to deliver what they needed.’
Sarah Jane Linton, Faculty Director at Coatbridge College, said;
‘Our HND programme prepares actors for the work they will face in the industry – including acting for camera, theatre acting, singing, creating scripts and a variety of other relevant subjects. All of our courses equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to help them secure employment and develop the skills employers are continually seeking.
Past students have had great success since completing their studies at the College, whether this be through further study at a higher level or working within the industry on television, theatre and film’.< Browse All Articles
