Cumbernauld College

Welcome

The ethos of Cumbernauld Audio and Media department is learning technology through creativity.

Each learner produces a portfolio of work at the end of their HND. This portfolio includes two short films, a music video, a documentary, a TV Magazine show and various projects including 2D and 3D animation. As well as being practice based, each student is given a solid grounding in film and TV research and production. This culminates in them securing work experience during the final semester of their HND. For learners who wish to continue with their studies outside of college, the department has close links with the University of West of Scotland and Cumbernauld Theatre.

Since 2007, Cumbernauld College Audio and Media department has seen a £1m investment in state-of-the-art facilities. This includes 3 recording studios with 5.1 surround sound, a 5.1 surround sound post-production edit suite, a video editing suite, a foley room and a 5.1 surround sound cinema.

Members of the team have recently provided training and worked on projects for external agencies including the BBC, the British Arts Council and Universal Music Group. Learners have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through productions that are undertaken by staff.
