Ayr College is committed to seeing every one of our students reach their potential. All of our staff are experts in their field. You’ll find us enthusiastic about our subjects and, even more, our students. We offer training courses in drama as part of our schools link provision with local secondary schools at Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Higher. We also offer full-time courses at NC, HNC and HND level.
We are committed to developing a range of Essential Skills within our students that will help support progression through education and aid students in the process of finding and maintaining employment with the Performing Arts.
Our students are always highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to their studies. We deliver our classes in purpose built rooms including a dance studio and theatre space which includes a full lighting and sound system. Our students regularly perform in a variety of shows and productions – recent highlights have included a Xmas play staged in December 2009 conjunction with Barnardos which helped to raise over £1000 for charity, and the play “Hobson’s Choice” which was staged as part of the Glasgow West End Festival in June 2010. Projects like these have developed not only a range of core employability skills in our students but also raised their awareness of “citizenship” and developed our students as more responsible citizens and effective contributors to our local community.
Students can download the College prospectus through the College website and apply online for courses.
