About Us

The Scottish Drama Training Network exists to enhance, support and create opportunities for Scotland’s colleges and higher education institutions.

Membership institutions include those with courses in:

•  ACTING
•  MUSICAL THEATRE
•  CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE PRACTICE
•  TECHNICAL THEATRE SKILLS
•  FILM
•  TELEVISION
•  RADIO

SDTN is a Scottish Funding Council initiative which was established in 2009 to ensure that training in these subjects would be strengthened in institutions across Scotland.  The aim was to encourage a convergence of related disciplines, promote collaboration and facilitate the exchange of skills and facilities between institutions, industry, tutors and students.
