CPD Lab at National Theatre of Scotland

On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 January 2017, SDTN held the first of a new series of CPD Labs.

The two days were designed as Continuous Professional Development opportunities for Acting and Performance lecturers from our Network of Institutions. The #SDTNlabs were held at the National Theatre of Scotland’s new facility, Rockvilla, which officially opened on Monday 23 January 2017, situated on Glasgow’s picturesque canal route.

The Scotsman‘s ‘One to Watch for 2017’ Theatre Director Cora Bissett lead Friday’s workshop, Rehearsal Room, which explored a variety of techniques and approaches that can be applied in rehearsals. Attendees were treated to a tour of NTS’ state-of-the-art new facilities as well as an information session about external verification from Dave Bennett, an External Verifier from the SQA. Following the workshop SDTN invited everyone to attend a Friday social at the Citizen M Living Room where the day’s discussions continued over a few drinks.

SDTN would like to thank our facilitators Cora and Mel, the National Theatre of Scotland and everyone who attended the workshops for what was a very creative and educational weekend. We look forward to hosting similar events next year.
