SDTN Sponsors Best Male Performance at CATS Awards
The Scottish Drama Training Network are pleased to announce that this year we will be sponsoring the award for Best Male Performance at the Critic’s Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS). The awards, now in their 14th year, are organised annually and awarded by the theatre critics of Scotland to celebrate the best Scottish theatre achievements in the theatre year. The judges shortlist nominees into 11 categories; Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Best Ensemble, Best Director, Best Design, Best Music and Sound, Best Technical Presentation, Best Show for Children and Young People, Best New Play, Best Production and CATS Whiskers. We are thrilled to be a part of an event that recognises the hard work that actors, directors, designers, musicians, producers, technicians and many more put into theatre in Scotland.
The nominees for this year’s Best Male Performance are:
Cliff Burnett for his performance as Franz Stangl in Into That Darkness at the Citizens Theatre.
Sandy Grierson for his performance as Lanark/Duncan Thaw in Lanark: A Life in Three Acts at the Citizens Theatre and the Edinburgh International Festival in association with Graham Eatough and Sorcha Dallas.
Paul Higgins for his performance as Ray in Blackbird at the Citizens Theatre.
Barrie Hunter for his performance as Bob in Descent, produced by A Play, a Pie and a Pint and presented by the Traverse Theatre Company, in association with Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing festival.
We wish all the nominees the best of luck and we are looking forward to celebrating a great year of theatre at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh on Sunday 12 June. Tickets for the awards are on sale now, you can purchase them online, click here.< Browse All Articles
